Job Description

Kinect is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join our client's team to  develop and maintain the firmware for their embedded Linux systems with video streaming and SIP capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded Linux, and networking.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop firmware for embedded Linux systems with video streaming and SIP capabilities
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to integrate firmware with hardware, software, and other systems
  • Design, develop and maintain firmware for 8/16/32 bit microcontroller-based products
  • Troubleshoot and resolve firmware-related issues
  • Verify embedded firmware works with hardware
  • Document features, issues, and operation of firmware
  • Transfer knowledge to others within the company
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in firmware development for embedded Linux systems
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming languages
  • Knowledge of network protocols
  • Experience with Git and issue tracking systems (Jira/Confluence)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills and programming languages
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with network protocols such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, etc.
  • Analog and Digital circuit design (create schematics, source components, evaluate topology for circuit board layout).
  • Microchip PIC Microcontrollers
  • SIP VoIP (Session Initiation Protocol)
