Job Description
Kinect is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to join our client's team, a prestigious investment company based in San Francisco, CA. This is a contract position requiring onsite presence four days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely one day a week.
As a Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions. You will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
- BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Docker).
