Job Description
Our client, a leading global asset management company, is seeking an accomplished technology leader to serve as Vice President of Cloud Security Engineering & Operations. This direct hire role offers the opportunity to provide both strategic and technical leadership in securing enterprise cloud environments—primarily Azure—and to oversee a team responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of cloud-native security capabilities.
The successful candidate will serve as the executive leader for cloud security, working across platform, architecture, operations, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory alignment, robust risk management, and secure enablement of critical business functions.
Key Responsibilities

Define and lead the enterprise cloud security strategy, securing Azure and multi-cloud environments.

Oversee the selection, implementation, and lifecycle management of cloud security tools (e.g., Microsoft Defender, Azure Policy, SIEM/SOAR, CSPM, CIEM, encryption, PAM).

Drive secure architecture practices including Zero Trust, least privilege, identity security, and automated policy enforcement through IaC and CI/CD.

Lead cloud security operations, including posture management, threat detection, incident readiness, and SOC automation.

Ensure compliance with global regulatory frameworks such as SEC, SOX, GDPR, NYDFS, NIST, and ISO 27001.

Partner with senior stakeholders in technology, risk, and audit functions to manage cloud security risk and reporting.

Mentor and lead a high-performing team of cloud security engineers and technical SMEs.

Develop and manage the annual budget for cloud security, driving cost efficiency while maintaining operational excellence.

10+ years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in cloud security leadership (Azure focus).

Proven success building and scaling cloud security programs in enterprise environments.

Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure security services; AWS/GCP experience a plus.

Strong knowledge of Zero Trust, CIEM/PIM, encryption, DevSecOps, and cloud-native detection & response.

Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, and regulatory requirements in financial services.

Experience in regulated industries, particularly investment management or financial services, is highly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced certifications (Azure Solutions Architect/Security Engineer, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, etc.) preferred.
