Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk / Junior AP Specialist to join our client's finance team on a contract basis. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely processing of all accounts payable transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is based onsite in Los Angeles, CA, five days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and check requests with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure proper coding of invoices, expense reports, and check requests according to the company’s chart of accounts.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoice status, payment inquiries, and discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end closing tasks, including accruals and account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve processes and implement best practices.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with QuickBooks or similar platforms is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
