Director of Engineering (.NET)
Job Description
Our client, a leading innovator in the oral healthcare industry, is seeking an experienced Director of Software Engineering to lead a team of 10+ engineers through an exciting platform modernization and cloud migration project. Reporting directly to the Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO), this role requires a dynamic leader with deep technical expertise, a passion for team accountability, and a focus on continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with .NET Core, SQL Server, and Microsoft Azure, with specific expertise in cloud migrations. This role will involve balancing technical leadership with strategic oversight, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-On Contribution:
- Write and review code as needed, focusing on critical technical challenges.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the engineering team to ensure best practices in software development.
- System Design & Technical Leadership:
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable software solutions, with a focus on platform modernization and cloud migration.
- Review system designs and provide strategic direction to align with business goals.
- Partner with the CTO and Product Management to ensure technical solutions meet long-term product vision.
- Team & Project Management:
- Manage a team of 10+ engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
- Oversee the cloud migration process, driving team execution and cross-functional collaboration.
- Implement processes that promote continuous improvement, efficient development cycles, and optimal resource utilization.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in .NET Core, SQL Server, and Microsoft Azure, particularly in cloud migrations and scaling applications in the cloud.
- Proven experience in platform modernization, system architecture, and technical leadership.
- Hands-on coding experience with strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of software development best practices.
- Experience managing and mentoring engineering teams, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Strong familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Previous experience in the healthcare industry or with data-driven solutions is a plus.
