Job Description


Our client is a leading media technology systems integrator and is seeking a highly skilled Backup Solutions Architect to support an upcoming enterprise backup project. This role will be key in the presales and discovery phase, including solution design, proof-of-concept planning, and project scoping discussions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement enterprise-grade backup and recovery solutions using IBM TSM (Spectrum Protect) and Dell EMC Avamar

  • Lead technical planning and deployment across hybrid environments (on-premises, cloud, and virtualized)

  • Evaluate and optimize existing backup strategies for performance, scalability, and compliance

  • Integrate backup tools with enterprise applications and storage platforms

  • Create documentation and procedures for backup, retention, and recovery policies

  • Provide expert support during audits, disaster recovery tests, and incident response

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex backup/restore issues

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with IBM TSM / Spectrum Protect and Dell EMC Avamar

  • 5+ years designing and managing enterprise backup infrastructures

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation

  • Familiarity with cloud backup solutions (AWS, Azure, etc.)

  • Solid understanding of SAN/NAS storage systems, networking, and virtualization platforms

  • Knowledge of data compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in IBM Spectrum Protect and/or Dell EMC Avamar

  • Experience with complementary backup technologies such as Data Domain, NetWorker, or Veeam

  • Disaster recovery planning and performance tuning experience

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
