Job Description


The Inventory Analyst partners across various business functions with emphasis and opportunity on revenue recognition.  This position resolves discrepancies between the amount of inventory reported and originally purchased vs. sold to ensure accuracy of financial information.  It assists in quarterly cycle count and full physical performance for each  Warehouse location, produces inventory reports. Maintains several financial ERP databases and spreadsheets to detail inventory results.
Essential Functions
  • Supports activity related to inventory management for each instance of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains for Sales Order resolution, IT issues, and inventory transactions
  • Works with assigned Business Analyst during integration phase of newly acquired company(s) to ensure that there is a complete end-to-end process that addresses each need per specific LOB or unique business practices
  • Allocates and un-allocates equipment to assist Sales Support roles and Order Management
  • Completes inventory adjustments and cost averaging transactions when required
  • Follows product flow between departments
  • Monitors order queues to ensure seamless movement of inventory on hand to ship and invoice in a timely manner
  • Gathers and presents monthly reporting metrics and consolidates data into a workbook for manager evaluation and review
  • Works with IT on one-off break/fix issues in support of order processing
  • Bridges gaps in pre/post integration inventory activity until permanent solutions are satisfied by staffing resources or system alignment


Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cross train other teams in supportive roles as a result of acquisitions
  • Assist with the performance and preparation of yearly audit functions
Required Qualifications
  • College, Bachelor’ s degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Exhibits a high level of organizational skills and sense of accountability
  • Proven ability to be able to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to effectively present information and communicate with peers and management
  • Demonstrates professionalism, particularly when working with other depts. within the company
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, specifically Excel
  • Minimum 3 yrs. experience as a business/inventory analyst, or similar field


Desired/Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Telecommunications
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains with specific focus on Inventory, Purchasing, and Returns as it relates to understanding transactional data for inventory reconciliation
