Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to support a project for our client that is a large SaaS based company in San Dimas, CA.
What You’ll Do Here:
  • Lead a team of 4-8 engineers, delegate tasks, and oversee progress
  • Mentor incoming engineers by providing training during onboarding and helping them develop their unique talents
  • Create engineering standards and ensure efficiency in development efforts
  • Oversee work product and identify procedures to reduce code bugs
  • Set department objectives and individual team member goals with alignment to the business needs
  • Supervise project development procedures to support business operations
  • Conduct research and development programs to maximize productivity and team efforts
  • Lead solution implementations that fulfill technical and business requirements
  • Evaluate and analyze client requirements to provide development estimates and identify obstacles/ development constraints
  • Use industry best practices to capture and document client needs, requirements, and changes of scope throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Develop software solutions by evaluating client requirements, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
  • Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Develop Apps in low code SaaS Application Development platforms such as Quickbase
  • Leadership in technical design including a combination of functionality and technical vision between usability, performance, and budget options
  • Utilization of prebuilt classes and/or SDKs to enhance build speed and consistency
  • Add enhancements as necessary to reusable internal libraries and classes
  • Project management and ability to drive software technology best practices

  • Expert-level understanding of vanilla JavaScript with the ability to utilize libraries effectively
  • Experience using JavaScript to make AJAX requests, implement event-based functionality, and manipulate DOM elements
  • Experience as a Python Developer to interact with RESTful web services, push and pull data from various systems via Python’s requests and other supporting libraries
  • Experience with Django-based web application development and configuration to run under Apache on a Unix OS-based system
  • Similar experience with a modern web application framework and a desire to learn a new framework
  • Build Django views to display HTML-based templates that render and accept data in various formats (e.g., calendars, input forms, PDF Documents)
  • Experience in UNIX Server management and set-up for web applications (e.g., install and configure Apache including CSR generation and SSL certificate installation)
  • Schedule scripts via cron utility and proficiency working via SSH and SFTP
  • HTML AND JavaScript Development, create layouts, display data in a styled format using HTML and CSS3
  • Experience with best practices for performance, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility/limitations
  • Experience contributing to and maintaining repositories in a version control system (e.g. Github or Subversion)
