Job Description

We have an immediate need for a Lead Systems Administrator to join a visual effects company at their Santa Monica, CA location. This will be a full-time, direct hire position that will assist in delivering technical solutions and future recommendations that align with the company' s business goals and strategy.

The ideal candidate must have experience working in the visual effects industry with deep experience in Linux and particularly Linux workstations. Solid networking skills and experience managing routers/switches/firewalls etc.  


• Maintain / monitor all infrastructure in a multi-site environment

• Support a large enterprise linux environment - storage, networking, compute etc

• Provide tier 3 technical support to all departments

• Research and design technical services to assist in business operations

• Mentor and train team members

• Oversee a large on-site renderfarm


• +5 Years Enterprise Linux administration - RHEL / centos preferred

• Advanced Networking knowledge and design - Configuration / WLAN / VLANs / DNS / DHCP / Routing / VPN

• Advanced Enterprise Storage Administration - Isilon / NetApp / ZFS

• Advanced scripting knowledge - bash / python etc

• Experience managing Directory Services - OpenLDAP / Active Directory

• Experience managing Vitalization Environments - Xen / VMWare / Nutanix / KVM

• Experience managing a mixed OS environment - Linux / OSX / Windows

• Experience with Configuration Management Systems - Puppet / Ansible / Chef

• Experience with Cloud Environments - GCP / AWS / AZURE

• Solid understanding of security best practices

• DevOps experience is also an advantage

• Excellent time management and troubleshooting skills

• Excellent Communication Skills

• Ability to work well under pressure

• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
