1) Candidate does not absolutely need to have Solidworks experience. The more experience they value is design tools within the commercial space. Refrigeration specifically will be tough since there are limited competitors, but they do plan on eventually implementing
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD/Mechanical Designer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD software. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure designs meet technical standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:

Create 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models using AutoCAD and other CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or Revit).

Develop detailed layouts, assembly drawings, and fabrication drawings based on engineering sketches and specifications.

Modify and revise designs based on feedback, design changes, or engineering review.

Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, functional, and manufacturable.

Ensure all drawings adhere to company standards and applicable industry codes.

Maintain drawing files, documentation, and design revisions using appropriate file management systems.

Perform tolerance analysis, BOM generation, and material selection as required.

Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.
Requirements:

Associate's degree or technical certification in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or related field.

Proven experience with AutoCAD (2D/3D); experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD platforms is a plus.

Strong understanding of mechanical components, assemblies, and fabrication methods.

Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.

Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and mechanical drafting standards.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

3+ years of experience in mechanical design or drafting.
