Job Description
Our client, a global leader in alternative investments, is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President, Head of Data Operations to build and lead a world-class enterprise data operations function. This executive role will oversee global data reliability, observability, quality, and incident management across a modern data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities

Build and lead a global data operations organization ensuring reliability, monitoring, and proactive issue management.

Define and execute a “follow-the-sun” operating model, staffing strategy, and training framework.

Develop and maintain a unified operational monitoring platform with real-time visibility into data flows, job performance, and platform health.

Introduce predictive alerts, automation, and self-healing capabilities to prevent business impact.

Lead incident management, including response coordination, communications, and root-cause analysis.

Partner with Engineering to embed operational readiness and resiliency into design and release processes.

Oversee data quality operations, validation, and reconciliation processes in partnership with Governance.

Establish KPIs and dashboards tracking uptime, SLA performance, incident trends, and overall reliability.

Manage vendor relationships, SLAs, budgets, and performance for managed service providers.

Drive automation, standardization, and continuous improvement across the data operations landscape.

10–15 years of experience in data management, data operations, or related fields.

Expertise with modern data platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, and observability tools.

Strong knowledge of data pipeline architectures, data quality methodologies, and incident management frameworks.

Proven success leading 24x7 global operations and “follow-the-sun” support models.

Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to business partners.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Strong relationship-building abilities and comfort working with diverse teams.
