Job Description


Our client is a leading global firm in the investment management industry and is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President – Cloud Architect to lead the design, governance, and evolution of its Microsoft Azure cloud environment. This hybrid role is based in Los Angeles, with three in-office days per week.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure Landing Zone architecture, Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, Azure Well-Architected Framework, and security standards such as NIST-CSF and ISO 27001. This is a hands-on leadership role shaping enterprise architecture and driving the firm’s long-term cloud modernization strategy.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of Azure Landing Zones aligned with Microsoft best practices.

  • Develop and maintain cloud architecture standards, reference models, and reusable patterns.

  • Establish and enforce governance frameworks that ensure control, repeatability, and compliance.

  • Drive the enterprise cloud strategy, including adoption of NIST-CSF, ISO 27001, and Azure Well-Architected Framework.

  • Partner with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Security teams to define automation and modernization practices.

  • Support workload migrations from on-prem and AWS to Azure and help mature practices such as FinOps, IaC, CI/CD, and SRE.
Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience as a Cloud Architect within financial services or a regulated environment.

  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including governance, security, and automation.

  • Strong understanding of Zero Trust, Micro Segmentation, DLP, and Load Balancing.

  • Expertise in Microsoft tools such as Azure Policy, Blueprints, Defender for Cloud, ARM/Bicep templates.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred.
